Should I get a chocolate colored sofa(sectional)? - small sectional sofa

I want to upgrade my living room and need painting tips. We have wood floors, cream or beige walls, a Merlot / red curtains, a red carpet with a (square), and a leather ottoman as a coffee table.

I am a big fan of The Pottery Barn. I wonder if I was a part of the chocolate in the room, without being too small or get "dark" about. I like it in fashion, and I do not want to be something out of fashion next year .. Let me know!
