Recently I've started the game Virtual Villagers 2 Lost Children. It seems that the food is running out very quickly depleting coconuts and birds begin to eat the plants before they have a chance to grow. How you can either get rid of birds, or how to (get a supply of various foods with the exception of fish and seaweed), coconut (depleted) and fungi (not) a sufficient quantity of aid.

This is not really getting rid of, the birds, but to deter them from eating their crops. This puzzle 3 and the solution is as follows (courtesy of forums last day of work):
"Puzzle 3 is a scarecrow that the expert farmer can construct in order to protect crops against birds.
